Glimpse of Bhutan

DAY 01.  ARRIVE PARO – THIMPHU
A trip to Bhutan normally begins and ends at Paro. There can be few more charming valleys in the kingdom. As you disembark your Druk aircraft and take your first breath of Bhutanese air, you will be struck by the clean air and peaceful atmosphere.

During this flight, one will experience breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Kanchen Junga and other Himalayan Peaks including sacred Chomolhari and Mt. Jichu Drake in Bhutan weather permitting.

Destiny Bhutan  staff will greet you upon arrival at Paro Airport (7,000ft or 2200m) and drive you through the valley of Paro to Thimphu the capital city. The drive is about 1 hr to Thimphu. After refreshment, take a stroll around the town of Thimphu city. Visit weekend market and witness archery match if it is going on or stroll through the Thimphu city for its interesting curio shops. Thimphu is the only capital in the world without traffic lights. O/N Hotel

DAY 02.  THIMPHU SIGHTSEEING – PARO
Morning visit Memorial Chorten or Stupa built in the memory of Lt. His Majesty the King by Royal Queen Mother, visit Changangkha Lhakhang/Monastery, Motithang mini Zoo to see the National animal The Takin. Drive down to viewpoint from where you have magnificent view of Thimphu valley; visit National Library to see the large collection of traditional books, Folk Heritage museum where you can see the typical Bhutanese house and their way lifestyle.

Afternoon if possible you can visit Tashichodzong, the parliament house of the country, handmade paper factory and some of the local Handicraft centre. Evening Transfer to Paro. O/N Hotel

DAY 03. PARO Sightseeing
Take a hike to the famous Taktsang Monastery that clings magically on a cliff 300feet above the valley floor. This is one of the most scared pilgrimage sites associated with Guru Rimpoche or one of the Buddha’s of our times. Later visit the ruins of Drugyal Dzong that was once a glorious fortress that repelled the Tibetans. If you don’t get confident of the hike which is about 1hr one way, let your guide know in the evening and he will arrange a pony ride, you can hike and ride the pony/ mule to visit the view point of this famous monastery. Visit the Ruined Drugyal Dzong to get views of Mt. Jhomolhari and the Kichu Monastery which was built during the 7th century. O/N Hotel

DAY 04.  DEPARTURE

After breakfast transfer to airport for your onward flight
